What should I expect during my visit at Gee Eye Care?
How much time should I allow? With the friendly staff & technology that we employ at our office you should expect to spend 35-45 minutes for a comprehensive eye examination. Our goal is to put you first above all else, we know that your time is valuable and we respect that.
Will my eyes be dilated? If you are a new patient to the office or if you have not had your eyes dilated within the year, Dr. Gee strongly recommends you have your eyes dilated. Certain eye conditions are only detected when the eyes are dilated. Most patients are light sensitive and have some difficulty focusing up close for 2-3 hours following dilation but distance vision is usually not hindered. We will provide you temporary sun shades and you should not need a driver.
If I choose glasses or contacts, how long will it take to get them? We will not compromise quality for time. That being said, we will work to get your glasses to you in a timely manner. Although many optical services can process glasses very quickly, we feel it is important to assure our patients accurate, quality work and that can take up to 5-7 business days.
We always have trial contact lenses in stock and once the final parameters of your contact lens prescription are determined we will be able to process your annual supply of contact lenses. Often times annual supplies can be delivered directly to you at no additional charge.
Are there any special forms or documents that I need to fill out? As with any visit to the doctor, Dr. Gee needs to know about your physical health and medications that you are taking or are allergic to. To streamline your visit, you can complete the patient questionnaire prior to your visit. This will help expedite our visit and allow Dr. Gee to review your history. The forms can be found by clicking here you can either submit them electronically or fax them.
What if I cannot make it to my scheduled appointment? Life happens! When possible, we kindly ask you to notify the office that you will need to reschedule your appointment whether it is at a later time or another date. Unlike some offices there is no charge for cancelling an appointment.
